New Collaborative Student Learning Space

Thanks to the generosity of friends and alumni to the Annual Fund, a new collaborative student learning space opened in November on the second floor of the ChE building. The $15,000 needed for the refurbishment was made available through an internal College of Engineering competition that funds high-impact projects through private contributions.

The funding allowed some modest reconstruction and purchase of new equipment and furniture for the space to make it more inviting and functional, based on student input about their needs. Creating the new space also permitted two computer labs to be consolidated into a larger quiet zone for computer work and created a teaching assistantsí consultation room immediately adjacent to the new learning space.
