Dennis O'Brien will be joining the UIC Chemical Engineering Department Industrial Advisory Board. Dennis has been very active in the Department in recent years; serving as a mentor for the Senior Design Class, as well as helping students with their professional development via workshops and seminars. He earned his BSChE ('71) from the University of Tulsa, and an MBA ('78) from Roosevelt University. He is a registered Professional Engineer in Illinois and an AIChE fellow. He is currently a Group Manager in the Refining and Petrochemicals Division of Jacobs Consultancy in Chicago. Previously he worked for UOP in Computing, Marketing Services and Engineering for 34 years. He has holds 18 patents in controls, dehydrogenation processes, detergents and fractionation, and is in Chair of AIChE Societal Impact Operating Council for 2012. He is active in Fuels and Petrochemicals Division, Chicago Section of AIChE and Engineers Without Borders, Chicago Professional Chapter.
